This standard provides for a qualified American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) weld procedure for Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) of ASTM A514 Grade B (UNS No. K11630) high-strength (tensile strength of 110,000 psi or more) steel plate (also known as T-1 steel) up to a maximum thickness of 2 inches. This standard provides a weld procedure for performing maintenance and modifications to existing piping systems onsite. This standard is not for new construction unless prior approval is obtained from NASA Engineering.
