This NASA Technical Standard was developed by the NASA Loads Standard Panel to minimize variations in methodologies, practices, and requirements for the conduct of load analyses among the NASA Centers. It defines the methodologies, practices, and requirements for the conduct of load analyses for spacecraft and payloads and describes accepted engineering practices for NASA programs and projects. It also establishes general NASA requirements for the definition of loads to be used in the design and development of spacecraft and payloads. Guidelines are prescribed to establish consistent practices and facilitate integration at the program and project levels.
